17 months 1 week – back to reality

Aiden used to take pots in and out of the cabinets with no “adult” purpose.

But after returning home, he actually did things to show he knows what pots are for – for cooking.

P1320800

So it worked out well as we did plan to put up the pretend kitchen for Aiden when we came back from vacation.

P1320808

But since he understands the concept of cooking now, Daddie put the kitchen together even before the weekend.

P1320809

Wonderful!  Something to keep Aiden occupied so Mommie can cook!

P1320810

Wrong! Aiden has become even more sticky since our return.

P1320812

He has a wee case of separation anxiety.

P1320814

The first night was the worst because he would continually cry in his crib and say he knows he did something wrong. (in other words, don’t punish him.)

P1320816

The happiest moment was when Mommie and Daddie were in the same room with him.

P1320817

I could seriously cry while re-telling this event.

P1320820

But he had no issues with sitting in the car seat or high chair.

P1320822

Eating without crying was a bit of a problem most nights though.

P1320823

It drove Mommie and Daddie absolutely crazy.

P1320824

Luckily things calmed down by the end of the week.

P1320825

That includes eating and sleeping.

P1320826

By Saturday night he was willing to go to sleep without a fight.

P1320833

Mommie and Daddie can have a good night sleep too!

P1320838

Aiden loves to wash his hands when he plays in his kitchen.

P1320842

That’s because Mommie washes her hands a lot!

P1320843

Aiden was oh so tired.

DSC_6405

He fell asleep during his bath.

DSC_6406

So relaxing!

DSC_6411

That’s what happens when you don’t sleep well for a whole week.

DSC_6415

Mommie was eager to take Aiden out over the weekends.

DSC_6417

Since Mommie was afraid he would be super bored upon return.

DSC_6422

But Aiden is quick to adapt.

P1320853

I know he will bounce back!

P1320858

Mommie is getting braver.

P1320859

Letting Aiden feed himself yogurt?

P1320860

Yogurt everywhere.

P1320863

Who knew Aiden would eat it though.

P1320864

He wasn’t a big fan of it before Hong Kong.

P1320866

I guess the experts are right when they say try and try again when kids refuse to eat a certain food.

P1320869

But Aiden is not the only one that needs to get back into the groove.

P1320870

Mommie needs time too!

P1320873

Gotta get Aiden back to his regular foods.

P1320874

But will he want to after all the wonderful foods in Hong Kong?

P1320875

One sad thing after coming back is Aiden doesn’t come running to Mommie the way he did in Hong Kong.

P1320878

Calling “Mama, mama!” and then putting his palms on Mommie’s cheeks.

DSC_6436

Oh how Mommie misses those sweet moments.

DSC_6448

I dunno why he just stopped that immediately, never even got it on camera.  Mommie will just have to make sure this memory stays embedded in my heart.
