We were gonna be in the Rowland Heights area, so we decided to try a sushi joint close by.
Ootoro, located in the City of Walnut, had the best review in the area.
The ice vase makes this dish look pretty.
But there was a lot of 根 in the fish.
It was pretty busy there.
We were so hungry, Galen forgot to take a photo of the sushi before he ate a piece.
Scallop
毛蟹from Japan – sweet!
Spiny lobster sashimi with fresh wasabi – yummy!
One of Galen’s favorite – salmon with clear seaweed
Oyster with yuzu ice cream, uni and ikura, and caviar

Alaskan king crab leg (with thin gold piece) – not as sweet as the ones Janice and Benny brought back from Alaska
Uni wrapped with scallop – very disappointing. You can only taste the scallop. What happened to the sweet taste of uni?
Uni on mango – good try but just didn’t hit the spot
And that’s our general concensus of the food.
Abalone – lacking taste and the texture just doesn’t cut it.
