That’s right, 15 + months already!
He’s already creating obstacles for himself.
He thinks sticking his head through the chair is fun.
He thinks he can take over the TV from Daddie….”thinks” is a key phrase.
He wants to read multiple books at once, but only like a page or two in each.
No matter how many times you tell him a panda is a panda, a lion is a lion…
It’s a dog in his eyes.
He shakes his head or waves his hands to say “no”.
Nor does he want to listen when you say “no”.
He bargains with you without using words…that’s impressive!
He bargains about playing time, sleeping time, eating certain foods
It’s not too bad when he’s ready or eager to bargain with you.
But when he throws his tantrum or crying fit, Mommie has no patience.
Brats are not allowed in the family!
Daddie’s got Aiden so trained up, he can do time outs in public and without creating a scene (after the time out.)
With Doctor’s orders, Mommie is bringing out the crayons.
After he tried eating crayons at Acura, Mommie didn’t want him anywhere near it.
Fresh squeezed OJ! Delicious!
Waterfowls at a park in Cerritos.
It has a man made pond and small “waterfall” too!
You could even go fishing here, you’re just limited to 5 fish per the sign on the pole.
They have ducks, and even geese.
Let’s be careful as we walk by the pond, don’t do anything crazy Aiden.
We chose to stay off the kids playground because it was in the sand.
So today was family strolling/bonding time.
You walked most of the way all by yourself!
A good half hour’s worth!
Did we walk at least a mile?
No idea because our speed was toddler speed.
But Aiden is ready to meet challenges.
Letting go of things he really wants is something he is working on.
He will need to learn to be more patient and less stubborn…
How will he do that when both his parents are that way?
But we support him! He can do it!
New love: sit where there’s a space to sit.
His time out space… now he doesn’t cry but he tried to open the door and touch things available around him. Mommie and Daddie had to warn him many times.
He got hurt a few times by accidentally dropping a pan on his feet, and then his fingers got super swollen at the supermarket. Not a lucky week.
He does things in a most unconventional way.
I guess it’s never too young to “創一片天.”
Mommie brought plum and butternut squash to change things up a little.
He’s been eating much of the same food and has become bored of them.
Daddie even made 愛心Veggie pork wontons and HK style Borscht soup to boost his appetite.
He definitely enjoyed this week’s meal better than the last few weeks.
We’re preparing for our trip… Moo Moo cow backpack harness!
He didn’t like it, but after a while he did forget about it.
Not many new things this week but he is putting in much effort to learn vocabulary.
I finally realize what he says when he says what sounds like “menie”
He’s saying Minnie… Minnie Mouse…. something he learned from school.
He also says chicken…but not very well…
Actually sometimes he will try to repeat what Mommie says, like animals and objects.
Sometimes he says it accurately and other times he catches only parts of it…or it sounds like something completely different.
Other big challenges: diaper changing and brushing his teeth. Every day we go through pulling teeth to make it happen. Aiden even tries to brush his own teeth, the only time he’s not screaming during the process.
But we continue to teach him “chores.”
Mommie and Daddie can’t do it all.
