Tuesday morning, we walked Daddie over to the Monorail stop.
Aiden really wanted to go and test drive the cars outside.
You can see it in his eyes.
Instead, we went to the The Secret Garden to check out dolphins and some other wild animals.
There were many dolpins, Aiden was probably most interested in the one that played with a big ball.
It was about 3 in the afternoon, and hotter than we preferred.
Aiden and I were both drenched in sweat even though we weren’t out there for long.
So we set out to find a shadier location to check out the dolphins.
But many people crowded at the window where the dolphins would swim to.
So we settled in a lonely spot for a few minutes.
And when Aiden got restless we continued on our ways.
Aiden roared with the tiger.
Unfortunately, the real tiger wasn’t as lively.
In fact most of the animals were busy sleeping.
Even the striped tiger.
We tried to get a better view.
We stayed an hour and then went back to enjoy the pool with Daddie.
Aiden wanted to run about in the water today.
So we let him play a little before we placed his floatie in the water.
First thing’s first, test out the water.
Water is okay. Pass!
A girl named Evelyn came over to play with Aiden.
Her family kept coming over to let her know it’s time to leave.
She would leave and then come back.
At first Aiden didn’t want to share his toy.
But soon after I think he enjoyed the company.
She was very friendly, even pushing Aiden’s floatable so he wouldn’t be at one boring spot.
For some reason there were a few foods that Aiden didn’t care to eat while we were in Vegas.
Yam and his favorite watermelon was on the list.
Vegas really is Sin City, even for little ones!
We’ve never let Aiden eaten fried foods before, and he’s gotten his hands on fries a few times already on this trip.
But I couldn’t bring myself to take a picture of him in front of the slot machine.
My co-worker, Lauren, had really wanted me to take a shot of that.
But when Galen was getting his M card, I walked over to the desk, and the lady told me he wasn’t allowed there.
I’m sure he would have loved it too – all the colors and lights!
Oh well – I really didn’t want to get “in trouble” especially with the State of Nevada.
I saw some signs that reminded me that it was against the law to do so.
Not that without it I didn’t know it was illegal….
This is Aiden’s second trip, and as usual Daddie did practically all the planning.
Daddie tried very hard to find restaurants that were of quality and accepted little ones.
Mommie worked extra hard at work so that we all could have our first domestic trip.
Mommie and Daddie hopes that we could go on these mini trips to give Aiden different experiences.
He’s just so perceptive of his new environment.
His behavior isn’t always the best, but it provides another teaching/learning opportunity.
Daddie got free show tickets this time around, but we are hoping to get free comps next time!
How do we do that?
By playing a lot of games.
Hopefully by the time we rack up enough points the promotion will still be available.
That’s probably when our next trip to Vegas will be.
But Daddie wants to stay at a more centralized location.
We didn’t make it the M&M store nor the Coca Cola store.
That’s on our “to-do” list next time.
Maybe we’lll even catch a short M&M movie, it would be a first for the whole family.
We definitely plan to go back to Bouchon for their mussels, Aiden should be able to eat mussels then.
He eats shellfish, but only crab, fish, shrimp and lobster so far.
There are a few restaurants Daddie wants to try next time.
Monta Ramen, shaved ice, and another Japanese sushi restaurant.
But we most likely won’t be able to go to any steakhouses until Aiden is 5.
As Daddie called numerous restaurants, and that’s what he was told.
Daddie likes the steak houses as they serve foie gras!
It’s a special treat, since we can’t eat in anymore in California.
We also didn’t go outlet shopping this time.
Daddie almost had a work disaster in Vegas.
Lucky he noticed something was wrong, or he would have been walking barefooted.
Instead he got to dress a little bit more casual to match his regular black sneakers.
Bad luck, turns into pretty good luck.
Haha, Aiden must be feeling bored.
All of a sudden he is sitting in his floatable, very non-chalantly.
It must be kind of hot as he kept wetting his hair.
Now it looks like he actually went swimming.
Haha.. such a silly boy.
Looks like he did something he wasn’t supposed to do.
Nope, it’s because he is teething and he’s hurting.
His bites hurt a lot now since he’s got so many teeth.
One time he was mad at me, and when I fed him he purposely bit down hard and quick.
I had to explain to him that it wasn’t okay to do that.
After a couple times, he finally understood what I meant.
Again so he could have fun in the pool we pushed back our dinner schedule.
The latest they would accept us was 6:30.
We made it just in time.
They were very difficult to find as they don’t have a sign.
The outside lamp was all that indicated it was them.
Tonight we will have omakase.
The last time we ate omakase was in February.
We went for the $120 course as we were both hungry.
Daddie had champagne, only 2% alcohol.
Let’s see if there is anything on the menu for Aiden.
Why yes there is, sweet omlet!
We have our first appetizer course as well.
I was very impressed at first.
Aiden loved the egg.
It wasn’t enough. Encore!
Thirsty Aiden….
of course gets apple juice.
Very tasty.
Now that he’s got a taste of his food, he doesn’t want to wait.
Next part of our course sashimi.
That is supposed to be 10 pieces.
I’d say that’s a bit of a rip off.
So the delight that came with the first dish, slowly diminished.
Aiden was also acting up.
We had to take him outside for a time out session twice.
He was willing to drink water though.
We gave him some cooked fish as well.
We were also lucky that we had some snacks from Little Emma’s birthday party.
But he kept throwing things on the floor.
Daddie is going out for more sushi after this meal. Lucky!
Mushroom miso soup for Aiden.
Aiden enjoyed the mushrooms and finished off the last drops of miso soup for Mommie.
The waitress came over to ask us what dessert we would like.
I didn’t quite like their dessert selection, one especially odd item was onion tofu.
Come to find out, she meant almond tofu.
Yes, her accent was the bad And the value for the food in my opinion was almost just as bad.
