Aiden’s big thing (which began earlier but has gotten “more serious”) is copying.
He just thinks it’s hilarious!
Although part of me still feels he should be kept away from sweet drinks and all, I did give into some, like the yogurt drink.
Most of the time we’ll mix it with water 50-50.
Sometimes he will play copy game with me, but not my stance and all.
Usually he copies my intonations and sounds.
He’s actually pretty good at making sounds, like the car sounds “vroom”
Look at his eyes, you can tell that he is checking Daddie out so he can make his next move!
He’s not as attached to Mommie when I pick him up after school.
When I used to pick him up he would want to follow me if I left the room.
Now he will continue playing.
I found out that they always wash hands after playing outside.
So when I pick him up, he would run to the sink, step on the step stool and ask to wash his hands.
No wonder he started to step on it at home too.
But in the morning, he is more sticky.
Another improvement: His hitting behavior has diminished a lot.
But at school he does randomly get up and roam around, but so do the others.
He’s got a slight cold that still hasn’t gone away.
He is also so excited when we give him a pen. Scribbling is fun!
The Giordano back pack finally has its use.
Aiden is at his first “Parent and Me” swim class.
4 total classes because of the groupon special.
This will be his first time in the pool without the floatie.
We both were not quite sure how he would handle it.
Since I can’t swim, the obvious choice to be in the water with Aiden, is Daddie.
We made sure that he had breakfast early so he didn’t get an upset stomach.
Here we found he has an ouchie. We don’t know when it happened.
So far all is good in the water, though he always went to sit on the stairs.
Splash! Splash!
Pre-water warm out seemed to tire him a bit though.
But he sure had fun with Daddie!
Though he was still eager to not be in water for too long.
Aiden is one of the older toddlers in his group.
Which explains why his comfort in the water is not as high.
I saw a mom who sat her son on the edge of the pool deck and asked him to jump in.
If it was Aiden, he totally would not do it at this time.
As a third party looking in, I didn’t think Aiden really enjoyed himself.
Although Daddie said Aiden did better than he predicted.
Aiden especially liked it when he was lifted up and out of the water.
In the water he was more tense.
He seemed to cling on to Daddie most of the time.
He didn’t like the water in his eyes or ears.
But it’s good that Daddie is in the water with him, as Daddie can give Aiden support. would project the fear within me since I can’t swim.
And wonder if what he is feeling is really “painful” or “scary.”
What I was really surprised about was that they would dip the babies head under the water, even though it’s only for a second.
Aiden was so tired after class, we went straight home.
Daddie said the water is acceptable, but my only complaint is the noise level.
I can’t make out what the instructor is saying, and part of the time Galen can’t either.
She does want Aiden to practice more at home by him having water on his face more often.
I thought knocking down the turtle would be the most enjoyable part.
But he seemed nonchalant about it.
But he’s not opposed to going back next time, so good first lesson!
Daddie tried a few different ways to get Aiden to loosen up.
Like getting him to laugh.
Like pointing to the other babies nearby.
Daddie tried to lighten the mood by asking Aiden to wave to Mommie.
Great way to involve Mommie in the whole process!
Aiden hasn’t asked to go play his choo choo train often anymore.
But when he does, he likes to stay in the room for a long time.
His big thing these days is to add oil to the train.
So he’s learned to say “入油”
On weekdays we will listen to G.E.M.
So he can sing one word here and there…
When he sings the “whoaaaa” part, he sings it offkey.
But it drives me crazy because sometimes he won’t let me sing.
But his memory isn’t good enough to sing songs on his own.
Then he will repeat the same part again and again or he will just stop.
Or he likes it when I begin, but part way he will want to do it on his own.
He still loves to play talking on the phone.
I guess there have been lots of birthday parties at school because he actually can follow along singing happy birthday.
Poor guy has been wanting a lot of our attention.
Doing all these silly things to get our attention.
He loves to just grab my hand and take me to where he plays.
Sometimes he is satisfied if I play a little then I can go back to doing work.
Other times he needs one of us with him.
So we will try to put other things aside so that at least one of us can spend time with him.
He definitely feels he runs the show at home!
He’s changing so fast, when will he decide copying is no fun?
