Coloring is one of Aiden’s favorite activities.
Thus we decided it was time he got his own little table set.
He absolutely loves it.
We’re very cautious though, and give him just a few crayons.
He likes us to join him for coloring and drawing.
There’s only two seats so he will carry his step stool over so that Daddie can sit down too.
Roll up the sleeves so they don’t get in the way.
He scribbles and scribbles on the paper and coloring book.
He’ll tell us to color, but he says color like “cutter” “cutit”
What bothers me most is he picks at the crayons with his fingernails.
Especially after we take the paper part off, he just can’t help himself!
Sometimes he uses so much energy coloring, that he breaks it.
One time he tried to switch his kid chairs with the adult chairs.
I’m glad he is still keeping up with his down dog pose!
He calls the plane “car” because it has wheels.
But he knows what a plane is when it is in the air.
Look at this picky eater’s face!
But he actually thinks it is very tasty.
Aiden is now really starting to understand “identity.”
He points to himself and says “me.”
And sometimes he calls himself “Aiden.”
Ummm…..that’s just a sign of “confidence.” :X
But he has yet to call himself by his chinese name.
Then he will point to each of us to say who is Daddie and who is Mommie.
He wants to wear pants without diapers.
But of course he still cannot tell which is front and which is back.
But I love how he keeps trying and trying.
He still tries to steal the chopsticks when he has a chance.
He still makes a big mess at the dinner table.
But that’s the price to pay to get him to be independent.
Our little boy is feeling a little hip hop!
He prefers to have hats on backwards.
It’s cooler I suppose.
He’s so active, it’s so hard to keep things in order.
Especially now that he can open the fridge on his own.
After over a year of trying, he’s finally succeeded.
Now we’ve got more to deal with.
He’s been warned that he can only open the fridge with our approval.
Because one time he grabbed the glass container full of watermelon – so lucky it didn’t break.
I can’t believe how much he liked the cream sauce.
He couldn’t scoop it up so he got it to cover his face and head.
But he still couldn’t lick the sauce.
So happy to keep poking at it.
Since his hair was already dirty we let him “fool around” just a little longer.
Time for Mommie to help!
He’s also been in the mood to be building with legos.
We’ll all take turns to build it.
I usually just try and help him build a strong base.
In the end he knocks it down – the most fun part!
We went over to my co-worker’s place, at first he was very shy.
He refused to talk until he was offered some food.
He had so much fun!
My co-worker’s daughter remembered me as Aiden’s sister!
He is learning to play with other kids now.
And he still loves sitting inside boxes or things he can fit in.
And he still likes to ask Mommie to sit inside with him.
But now, I’m not just Amy, mama or Mommie…
I’m Meme…..Amy and Mommie combined.
But Daddie doesn’t have nicknames.
Aiden is a pro now in the showers.
He doesn’t hit himself like he used to.
He can stay under the shower for a longer period of time!
When we work on the safari puzzle together, he can understand simple instructions.
It still takes him a while, but I keep giving him hints and clues until he gets it.
So now he is learning 凹 and 凸 – words to help him with this puzzle.
One thing I think is absolutely necessary is teaching common sense and problem solving skills.
Just gotta combine FUN without it, so he stays motivated.
