After skipping last week WFW, I’ve been itching to come back to try some more different food trucks. The event is hosted by Jones Coffee Roaster every Wednesday till 9/14/11. This wednesday they had the Flying Pig, Dumpling Station, DogTown Dog, COOLHAUS, Hard Rock Cafe Van, Le Fashion, Rasta Taco, and last but not least, The Sweets Truck a la Cart
This is our picnic table of the night.
Our first stop was the Dumpling Station Truck.
Green color dumpling truck, very easy to spot.
The menu.
Pork & Leek dumplings (8pc). It taste like one of those frozen pack you can buy at the local chinese supermarket. For the same price, you can buy a whole pack, but here you get 4 pieces.
ToORiMa’s request: Cream cheese jalapeno wonton.
Kimchi dumplings. This one was not spicy at all and only has a slight flavor of kimchi.
It would be perfect if the wasabi mayo is spicier.
There’s Le Fashion truck, they had a lot of clothes on display but I didn’t really see anyone buying tho.
Next stop is the Dogtown dogs.
The menu, we were scratching head what kind of hotdog are they serving.
Haha… and there’s the picture menu.
We end up ordered the Dogtown Dog, Morning Commute, the Portobello Cheese Steak and couple order of the tots.
This is my request, Morning commute. The hotdog was pan fried to very crispy on the outside, it goes very well with the egg yolk. Yummy.
Dogtown Dog.
Portobello Cheese Steak, ToORiMa and Jason were wondering where’s the hotdog. I guess they didn’t read the menu carefully.
Nacho cheese tots. Everyone likes it.
It’s about time for dessert. The COOLHAUS, they didn’t drive the truck here this time, and the ice cream was being stored in the ice chest. Lets get them before they melted.
I got the dirty mint chip with maple waffle cookie. OMG, this was so darn good. It’s not the usual mint ice cream, it mixed the mint leafs with the vanilla flavor like ice cream. I highly recommend the dirty mint to everyone. But seriously, how could they store the ice cream in the ice chest in a hot summer day like this? A friend bought another ice cream sandwich at around 7pm, and it started melting before he walk back to our table, the ice cream dripped all the way through the parking lot.
Finally, the Flying Pig truck show up. It was 45mins late and it took them another 30 mins to get ready to serve.
The disappointed ToORiMa.
While we were waiting, Jason bought us some chicken/beef asados from the taco cart.
These were spicy to my standard.
Baby Dominic always has his eyes on the food. =D
I guess he was very hungry too.
Finally, the Flying Pig started serving. Lets order.
Crispy tofu bun.
We ordered every single taco from them.
Sliders, too dry. Avoid.
Pork Belly bun.
Baby Dominic wannabe?
Before we leave, lets check out the sweet truck a la cart. Their hot selling item – cupcakes.
A cake in the cup. =D
