These days Aiden gets first dibs on things – which makes sense why Mommie is bored.

It’s not easy to be a parent these days, our latest challenge with Aiden is teaching him that hitting is not okay.

P1370103

Not things, people, or himself.

P1370104

But his temper and impatience (wonder where he got that from? haha), makes it tough.

P1370105

It’s not just when he is frustrated but when he is hyper as well.

P1370107

One Saturday morning Daddie held onto Aiden’s hands for a good 30 minutes.

P1370108

At first he refused to say sorry.

P1370117

He kept fussing and crying and wouldn’t budge.

P1370118

In the end, he did apologize, but it had become more and more like a battle.

P1370119

We are trying to think of what we can do to make Aiden understand what is best for him.

P1370120

Suggestions are welcome!

P1370124

He is starting to climb up the sofa to reach for things on top of the mantelshelf.

P1370127

Another dangerous activity!

P1370131

On top of that he recklessly goes down the stairs, knowing we are there to hold onto him.

P1370132

He wants to get into his bathtub without taking off his clothes first.

P1370140

Brushing his teeth has still been a battle, so we are trying out a different tactic.

P1370144

But that only worked for 2 days and then back to square 1.

P1370147

We did notice that he’s saying a lot more English words though.

P1370149

So we continue on this journey of tackling one challenge at a time!
