To celebrate our 9th month wedding anniversary (my wife likes to make up reasons why we go out for a nice meal), my wife went on kevineats.com and yelp.com to get some ideas. The conclusion: Nozomi in Torrance. They recently changed their hours and are open 7 days a week now.
We sat at the sushi bar but oddly away from the chef, that’s where the waitress sat us (We called to reserve a spot earlier in the day). Since we were not close to the chef, we didn’t get the attention that we normally get at the sushi bar. Some nice surprises were the ankimo, yellowtail, and the uni. The uni is definitely different from other restaurants we’ve been to and something that they recommended from the start.

After seeing the chef making 6 Uni Don, I couldn’t resist on ordering another Uni Sashimi. yum yum…
