We don’t usually go up to the San Gabriel valley for lunch, and when we do, we always look for somewhere special. Since I wanted to give wifey a surprise especially for this mother’s day weekend (pre-celebrating mother’s day), I drove her to the Houston’s Restaurant in Pasadena without letting her know in advance. Why Houston’s? Because it has the best of the best crab cakes (wifey’s all time favorite), and this seasonal dish is not always available; not to mention, it’s not even listed on the lunch menu.
Here we are at the Houston’s Restaurant; this place was already full by 12pm.
I like their artichoke shape like ceiling lights.
Wifey is happy because she gets to eat her favorite crab cakes today.
Look at these jumbo lump crab cakes, all crab meat, nothing else. As told by the manager, these crab meats are shipped from Louisiana.
This is my fall-off-the-bones bbq ribs. And this actually tastes a lot better than I expected.
We finished up the perfect lunch with this delicious strawberry shortcake.
And to continue the Mother’s Day celebration, we came to The Crema Cafe for Sunday breakfast, picked by wifey.
This place is doggies friendly but not so Amy friendly. =P
Huge crowd waiting for tables on Mother’s day.
What’s better than free illy coffee?!~
And they offer free pastries while you wait, very thoughtful.
I think we did wait for 30 mins before seated.
Lets order, I’m starving…………………….. since last night. >_<
Slurp Slurp… good latte.
Oops, forgot to substitute the roasted potatoes for Amy.
This is my Breakfast Crepe with eggs, cheese, sausages inside; topped with avocado, sour cream and garlic cream sauce.
Happy Mother’s Day to Lo Por…
